I am so glad Pure Barre opened in Gig Harbor!! It’s a fantastic workout that has me feeling more strong and toned than ever before. It’s also a lot of fun! The studio is super clean, well kept, and energizing. They provide everything you need for the workout except sticky socks which you can purchase in the store.
I love the sense of community among members, instructors, and staff! Everyone is so encouraging and kind. There is a place for all, whether you're just starting your fitness journey or are a seasoned pro.
I’m happy pure barre has come to the harbor! Every class pushes me so hard yet somehow goes by really fast too, which is exactly the workout I want! I’m on the recovery side of a crappy health event that temporarily caused foot drop and decimated my strength.
Love Gig Harbor Pure Barre. The instructors are all encouraging and positive. There is a great array of scheduling options for those that work and have busy schedules. So worth it!
Your first barre class at Pure Barre
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: required here, and sold on-site if you don’t have a pair; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
