From the reviews
I’ve had an amazing experience at The Body Barre. I moved here recently and only ever went to big, chain gyms. The atmosphere and community at The Body Barre is top notch, and I’ve come to prefer this studio to big gyms. It is SOO welcoming! The instructors are very engaging and the best of the best.
I absolutely love this place! The variety of classes and times work well with my schedule. All of the instructors are very welcoming and knowledgeable. I always have a fear of trying new Barre studios due to my previous experiences with pretentious instructors and other members but you will not find that here.
Took my 1st class today, was a lil nervous going in. Being the only guy in an all female class was a lil intimidating. The staff here was so great I was greeted with smiles from them and was quickly made to feel at home. They were all helpful and answered any questions I had and were just all around great.
This place has transformed me. It’s so fun and I just love how we just come as we are and everyone is accepted. All shapes, sizes, colors, etc! I’ve never felt so at ease (even during TOUGH workouts!!). I highly recommend The Body Barre if you want change- physically, mentally, and spiritually.
Your first barre class at The Body Barre
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
