From the reviews
I can’t say enough good things about Pure Barre! From the moment I walked into my first class, I felt welcomed and supported by the instructors. The classes are a perfect blend of strength, flexibility, and mindfulness.
I was so excited Pure Barre was opening in Scarsdale that I signed up for unlimited membership months before it opened. By far, Barre is the most effective workout for getting a sculpted and toned body. The instructors are all friendly and engaging.
I have really enjoyed going to the Scarsdale Pure Barre location. The parking is super easy, and it is always possible to get into the classes that I want. I love all of the instructors. Yesterday morning I had the BEST class with Chanel. It was so good, I even had to go back inside to thank her!
I was a long-term devotee of PB in the city for years, so I was THRILLED when this location opened so close to my house... and thus far, it has been a truly terrific addition to my weekly routine. The studio is immaculately clean, the front desk team is warm and welcoming, and the instructors are top-notch.
Your first barre class at Pure Barre
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
