Ok Pure Barre. You have me humbled! I was so excited to see this location open in my town. I am hooked, lined and sunk! Sofia, the general manger is an amazing human!
After years of trying to lose weight and feeling like nothing was working, Pure Barre helped me finally jumpstart my fitness journey again. Not only have I lost weight, but I’ve never felt more toned or seen such a positive change in my physique. The workouts are challenging, effective, and truly transformative.
Since joining Pure Barre I’ve been trying the different class formats to experience everything the studio has to offer, and I have to say the classic format is my favorite. I always make sure to choose Stefanie D. as my instructor.
Your first barre class at Pure Barre
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
