From the reviews

The classes have been great. Only concern is the lack of equipment cleaning. They had us on wipe and it a a lot of surface area to cover with one cheaper thin wipe and I noticed today people didn’t wipe anything. So maybe giving a few, and have the instructors say it loudly or soemthing.

I can not say enough amazing things about pure barre. It truly has become my second home and my second family. The instructors, Carolina and the entire staff go out of their way every day to make sure every member is always happy! Thank you for opening in Rye Brook and for adding so much joy to my world!

I absolutely love this pure bar studio- it truly became like a second home for me, I go almost every day and it’s one of the highlights of my routine. Even though I’ve exercised, professionally, and for fun, my entire life, this is the place where I genuinely relax, recharge, and connect with friends.

I used to do pure barre from 2017-2020. It kept me in the best shape of my life, the fastest way I’ve ever gotten toned and lost literal pants sizes. I took some time off due to medical issues and covid and tried other workouts, but nothing has compared to pure barre.

Your first barre class at Pure Barre

New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.

Barre is low-impact, so it suits most bodies and fitness levels — but if you're pregnant or working around an injury, check with a doctor and let your instructor know so they can offer modifications.
