From the reviews
West End Pure Barre is phenomenal! The staff is incredibly caring and knowledgeable. They make sure to follow up with you constantly to ensure you feel supported and welcomed. It truly does feel like a community, nonjudgmental, and just people trying to improve other.
I used to do barre before I had kids. I remember putting my work out clothes on when I was 9 weeks pregnant with my first and deciding I was too sick to do it anymore. I completely stopped doing barre until I was 11 months postpartum with my second.
My 24-yr old daughter introduced me to this awesome studio for a Mother’s Day surprise in 2023. This Mother’s Day, the studio had a “make your own bouquet station” - one of the many fun celebrations they regularly hold.
I have fallen in love with Pure Barre since I started 3 months ago. It has helped me to create a workout routine that motivates me and I look forward to going to. I leave feeling refreshed and energized after each of my classes. Classic and Align are my favorite formats to attend.
Your first barre class at Pure Barre
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
