I cannot say enough good things about barReVA!! I have been a member for a few months now and the workout is perfection. I saw results within about a month and a half and it just keeps getting better. No class is the same so it is always interesting, and I love the full body workout you get from each class.
Just had the most amazing class with Carmen. It was my first time here and I must’ve coincidentally booked a class with all the instructors because everyone seemed to teach there! It was amazing though, bc instead of getting super cliquey and icing me out, they were all like “hey! You’re new! What’s your name?”.
I came from a studio that I loved, so BarReVA had big shoes to fill, and they have certainly succeeded. The instructors are all well-trained, friendly, and encouraging. They all also offer modifications and challenges to help create an individualized workout.
Absolutely LOVE this studio! Workouts are always challenging and instructors are knowledgeable and have really worked to keep us all safe and motivated during this pandemic.
Your first barre class at barReVA
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
