Pure Barre-Hyde Park I have been going to Pure Barre-Hyde Park for approximately 4.5 years now. I have truly enjoyed taking classes here. There are amazing teachers that teach different formats, and there are a lot times that you can go during the day, early morning and through until the evening .
I've attended PB Hyde Park for just over a year now. I used to run, but had a variety of injuries so was looking for an alternative. This has been a great fit for my needs - the classes are as intense as you want them to be, are always on time (starting and ending), it is a supportive, small group environment, and…
There aren’t too many places where I’m guaranteed to have matching socks on but Pure Bare Hyde Park is absolutely one of them. Mostly because they sell them and the mood lifting sticky socks, amazing patrons, good music and fun instructors are always a highlight for me.
I started coming to Barre classes at this location since July. All of the instructors I have had so far have been amazing: they're professional, enthusiastic, and positive throughout each class. You feel very sore initially, but then you build up your muscles quickly and feel stronger and more confident.
Your first barre class at Pure Barre
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: required here, and sold on-site if you don’t have a pair; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
