From the reviews
Have been a member here for 3 years and through 2 pregnancies. I love being able to bring my baby to some of the classes, as well as my toddler participating in family fitness classes. My husband has attended multiple classes too.
I went to a hot yoga class with Sarah S. It was my first time to Haumea and I was welcomed and given a tour. This put me at ease and I felt instantly like I belonged there. Sarah was professional and warm. She led the class a pace I could keep up with and I loved how honest and real she was.
Beautiful studio with an amazing, supportive community of mamas. My 8 mo old son and I enjoy mama/baby yoga as well as baby friendly barre classes! I also love having the option of having him spend time at the on-site childcare while I do yoga!
First time back to Haumea since I had my baby a year ago, at that time I was going weekly for prenatal yoga, and I am thrilled to be back again. The new space is GORGEOUS and the Candlelight Flow class was the perfect way to ease back into yoga.
Your first barre class at Kindred Movement (fka Haumea Yoga)
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
