From the reviews
Local Barre is BY FAR my favorite work out yet. To work out, I have to be interested, motivated, and pushed. This place nails all of my interests. You dont have to have any experience..which is GREAT! because I fall over my own feel while walking..But thanks to Barre (and Alex & Bronwyn) I feel great!
I love corner barre, incredible workouts that challenge me each time and an amazing community of support within the studio. Corner barre is a great place to workout with the best instructors!
Love the classes and small business support! They even have a mini-gallery to support local artists to surround your workout beautifully.
I started coming here after moving to Short Pump and immediately loved it. I've taken classes with Hannah, Christy, and Heather. Each of them have their own unique teaching style but are equally effective and amazing! All of the instructors are skilled at explaining and demonstrating the exercises.
Your first barre class at Corner Barre
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
