The classes they teach
“The Core Barre Fit livestream classes provide a superb workout.”
What's on offer
“They bring as much energy, expertise and motivation to the virtual classroom as they do if you're lucky enough to catch them in NYC or the Hamptons.”
“The classes have brought me a rare combination of physical challenge in the barre and yoga workouts, flexibility in the Restore class and, in all, emotional comfort.”
What members say again and again
“I’ve loved Fred and Lis’ classes /style since their Exhale empire days; their classes were always the best barre classes, and they always manage to train amazing teachers.”
“I get a great workout every time I join them virtually (they also offer recordings of class, good for 48 hours, if you have a busy schedule).”
“As a new member of the community, I have been treated with the same warm welcome and friendly encouragement as those who have trained with Elisabeth and Fred for decades.”
“I started taking classes last year because of Kat Steers (my all time favorite barre instructor) and in the last year I have grown stronger both physically and mentally.”
From the reviews
CoreBarreFit is my savior. I am 79 years old with two half titanium knees and one shoulder replacement. CoreBarreFit keeps me limber and my energy at a high level. Fred and Elisabeth are the most motivating, encouraging instructors I've ever had. I feel their love even though I am streaming the class.
I wonder if Fred and Elisabeth know just how much their classes mean to their students. The other day, I almost missed signing into the stretch class and feel my day would have been on to a bad start!
lis + fred are the originals - of correbarre- they started with lotteberk method and then they incorporated this brilliant combination of correbarre , lotteberk , pilates… been doing for 37 yrs - need i say more !
The Core Barre Fit livestream classes provide a superb workout. Elisabeth and Fred (and Dodi and Kat) have the ability to get to know every student in the class and give personalized feedback all while providing top level barre instruction. I have been "attending" livestream classes since the spring of 2020.
Teacher training at CoreBarreFit
CoreBarreFit comes up for teacher training — confirmed on their own site. If you're thinking about becoming a barre instructor, a few things are worth asking up front. First, which certification the program leads to — many boutique studios run a proprietary, method-specific training (Pure Barre, Bar Method, and barre3 each certify you in their own format), while others offer a more general barre certification you can teach anywhere. Second, the schedule and prerequisites — trainings often run as intensive weekend blocks or over several weeks, and most studios want you taking classes there regularly first. Third, cost and payment plans, and whether tuition includes an unlimited membership for the training period. Teacher training is a real commitment of time and money, so it's worth a call or an info session before you enroll.
Your first barre class at CoreBarreFit
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
