From the reviews
I’ve been coming to Common Ground Pilates for two years, and it continues to be one of the warmest, most welcoming studios I’ve ever experienced. The environment is inviting from the moment you walk in, and the quality of instruction is consistently outstanding.
I've taken classes at both the West Adams and Mid City locations and I'm so grateful for what their classes do for my body, mind and spirit. No class has been exactly the same, but they are all rooted in the same philosophy, which I appreciate - its just enough "change" to keep me stimulated but not so much where it…
Common Ground Pilates in West Adams is hands down one of the best studios I’ve trained at. The space is clean, modern, and welcoming, and the energy is always positive without feeling intimidating. The instructors are knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely invested in helping you improve your form and get stronger.
Such a great experience at this Pilates studio! The space is so warm and cute—it immediately makes you feel comfortable the moment you walk in. I took a beginner’s class with Jan and she was amazing.
Your first barre class at Common Ground Pilates - West Adams Studio
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
