From the reviews
The BEST Pure Barre studio. The owner and all of the instructors are INCREDIBLE, not just at what they do but as people. Coming to classes here is something I look forward to every day, and it's such a welcoming and wonderful community. Not to mention, the studio itself is beautiful.
Leave in pain but with a smile on your face! I absolutely love this studio. I’ve been coming here for almost a year now and when I first started, I was a bit like some of you in the sense that I saw the word barre and was like: “I’ve never did ballet before in my life. I don’t think this is for me.
What a gem of a barre studio! I've been taking Pure Barre for almost 11 years, and have taken at several studios in LA-- but never felt like I truly belonged until Pure Barre Culver City. Every member of the staff knows you, and actually cares about you-- and the members are like a giant family.
My wife and I would recommend this as a great couples workout. A note to the weight bros: Barre helps strengthen the core, lower back and legs. As for the studio itself, Ally the owner and all the instructors are incredibly kind and professional.
Your first barre class at Pure Barre
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
