From the reviews
Barre3 makes me stronger, continually improves my balance, and it heightens my mindfulness. I make it to class three days every week and have met many like-minded people there who care about body & mind lifetime fitness.
I had a fantastic experience at the St Charles Barre 3 Studio. I have visited numerous studios in other states and this one is definitely among my favorites. The staff is warm and helpful, and the studio was bright, clean and well equipped. My instructor for the 45 min. strength class was very clear and easy to follow.
Barre3 continues to step up their game by adding new workout offerings! (i.e. strength and aerobic focused). All the instructors bring great energy and care. Super easy to book classes and there’s always a class that fits your weekly rhythm.
I've been trying several new workout places, and this is a favorite. Inviting environment. Everyone is friendly. There were people of all shapes, fitness levels, and all ages from late teens to seniors. I never felt out of place. Perfect gentle but intense workout; focused effort without a bunch of jumping.
Your first barre class at barre3
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
