From the reviews
I was nervous about trying yoga at a studio because I'm new to it and not sure exactly what I'm doing with each move/pose so I didn't want to be this goof stumbling through a class with a bunch of pros.
What a positive experience! The instructor made the class fun and challenging and was very encouraging! The other participants in the class were so welcoming and helpful and made me feel part of the class immediately! The whole experience was amazing! I’m excited to continue my classes and be part of this studio!
My mom and I have had a very good experience here. Both new to yoga, and my mom is especially balance-challenged. Over a few classes, we both saw improvement and felt good. Looking forward to coming back!
I recently traveled to St Charles from Pennsylvania to visit family. While I was in town, I wanted to keep up at least a portion of my yoga practice. Barre Harmony made that possible and then some!
Your first barre class at Barre Harmony
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
