From the reviews

Before coming here, I had never done any fitness class, on top of not exercising for a very long time. I was always hesitant to sign up for a group workout class because I knew it would be hard for me to keep up, and I didn't want to look out of place or feel self-conscious. Barre3 has been a perfect solution for me.

I've been attending barre3 Richardson since December 2024, and it’s since become an essential part of my wellness routine. The welcoming atmosphere and genuine sense of community is just the cherry on top! I love that barre3 focuses on the body-mind connection rather than just physical appearance.

★★★★★ — Alicia, May 2025

I started Barre3 when I was 3 months postpartum & could not have made a better decision. Not only are the workouts challenging, they are safe & scalable to every level. I've really enjoyed gaining my strength & endurance back after having my first baby.

I recently started taking barre classes within the past month and I have really been enjoying it! The instructors are amazing. They actually demo the movements and also supply plenty of modifications for what’re you need.

Your first barre class at barre3

New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.

Barre is low-impact, so it suits most bodies and fitness levels — but if you're pregnant or working around an injury, check with a doctor and let your instructor know so they can offer modifications.
