From the reviews
Barre Code is amazing! This is the first form of exercise I have ever craved and enjoyed. I feel strong and fit, and although the classes are really hard, they are designed in a way that feels achievable.
I’ve been a member of this studio since 2016 and an instructor since 2019. I absolutely love this place, my fellow teachers, and all of our clients. I have taken over 900 classes over the past 7 years, and it has never gotten easier. I continue to find new ways to challenge myself mentally and physically.
The Barre Code is my favorite barre studio! I was new to barre and was super intimidated when I started. Everyone here is friendly and works with people of all fitness levels. The instructors are helpful, the environment is fun, and the workouts are effective.
I love attending classes at The Barre Code in Lakeview! I’ve truly enjoyed the variety of classes offered at The Barre Code. I really like taking Ashley’s barre class. For more of a cardio workout, I like taking Megan’s and Danielle’s brawl classes! The instructors are amazing and each workout is extremely well taught.
Your first barre class at barre3
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
