From the reviews
I love Barre3. I’m 66 years old and have developed lots of creaky, uncomfortable issues with my body. I feel that the barre3 classes are a safe, total body reset. There is no small or large muscle group left unattended to. I feel myself getting stronger with each class!
love this studio :) it’s a beautiful sunny space, & all of the instructors are phenomenal! they also always offer alternatives to the more difficult/intensive poses, which i think is super nice & inclusive. also love how each class ends with a brief meditation or breathwork.
Barre3 has been life changing for me! I feel a noticeable difference in my strength, daily physical functioning, and endurance. My pelvic floor and core strength has also improved significantly. The instructors are fantastic and the workouts are FUN!
I’ve taken classes at this studio maybe 5 or 6 years ago ( pre COVID and children), then did the online prenatal workout program when at home in quarantine. I’ve just started back up again in studio, now with my 2 kids in tow, and I cannot say enough how wonderful it is to be back.
Your first barre class at barre3
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
