Highly recommend. After years of putting fitness on the back burner, trying to get active felt intimidating, but Barre3 was approachable, fun, and met me where I was. The instructors are always offering modifications without judgment, and the studio is a lovely environment.

★★★★★ — Tenia, Feb 2026

I've been going to Barre3 in some form or fashion since October 2022 when I got invited as a guest to a class, and I loved it right off the bat. Somehow the experience has just gotten better and better. The workout style feels tailored to what I like, what I value, what I need, and what just works.

when i first joined barre3 on a trial membership with the goal of getting myself back into shape, i was so nervous about going to a new studio and to a workout that i’d never done before!

★★★★★ — Toni, May 2026

Barre3 is the most welcoming and enjoyable workout class I have ever taken! Everyone is so kind, the workouts are tough but doable, and they do not overcomplicate anything. They offer support and modifications, allowing people of all fitness levels to be able to get a great workout.

Your first barre class at barre3

New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.

Barre is low-impact, so it suits most bodies and fitness levels — but if you're pregnant or working around an injury, check with a doctor and let your instructor know so they can offer modifications.
