From the reviews
Barre 3 has been the best workout for me and the best studio I have been apart of! I’ve tried many different things from HIIT workouts to yoga and everything in between and typically get bored or worn out of the same type of workout, but this gives you the best of both worlds.
Took my first Cardio Barre3 class today and absolutely loved it! It was such a nice change of pace from my usual at home workouts, where it’s easy to stop and take a work call and suddenly the workout turns into an all day or not at all thing.
I found Barre 3 after years of purely strength training. After one too many injuries I was finding myself in pain after classes and needing extra days off. The classes at barre 3 our challenging and include so many aspects of physical therapy while building strength that I am no longer in pain after workouts.
Everyone here is absolutely amazing and totally remarkable. Before coming here I participated in yoga every once in a while, and was just coming into fitness classes done regularly. This place is *thee* place. I did find some favorites in the nearly 3 years I’ve been coming weekly to Barre3.
Your first barre class at barre3
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
