I’ve been a member at Barre Forward for a year and a half, and I absolutely love it! Before finding this studio, I struggled to find a workout routine that I could truly stick with.
Barre Forward is literally life changing! Far beyond the physical and mental strength the practice focuses on. You will find the energy you take from this very special studio stays with you. This isn’t a franchised business; it’s an intentionally small, locally owned, community of women.
This studio has been a godsend to me! I’ve never been one to join studios for a number of reasons but when I visited for the first time as a guest, I felt instantly at home. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
