What's on offer
From the reviews
I love Tam’s classes! I have been taking her barre since she was a Dailey Method teacher back in 2010 and then when she opened her own barre studio in 2018. So happy she is back teaching because her classes are not only interesting and challenging but she really gets how the body is supposed to move.
I’ve been doing Pilates for decades. Tam is an amazing Pilates instructor. She will work every part of your body and you will leave exhausted, loose, and happy. I have old injuries in my body and Tam kindly works around my needs. She has a great understanding of body mechanics. Highly recommend any classes she offers.
Your first barre class at Tam Pilates and Barre
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
