From the reviews
I had my first free trial class here a week ago and would highly recommend this studio if you are interested in trying out Pure Barre. My first class was Pure Barre Align with Rachel and the 50 minute class went by quickly. It was not too difficult to keep up but still felt challenging at the same time.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Pure Barre classes! The mix of classes and the actual workout moves that are a mix of disciplines is exactly what I need! I love that the moves are carefully selected to target core areas and the Instructors are AWESOME!
Love my evenings at Pure Barre Oakland! Great energy from Gabby, Beth, and Helen. PB super friendly front desk staff. Love all the classes! I feel strong and proud to get another class in getting closer to 100 class club! PB got me ready for my Spartan Trail Race. I finished 30 minutes faster than expected.
I've been coming to this Pure Barre location for about five months and it's great! I definitely feel stronger in my core and posture. I haven't loved Barre that much in the past, but I really enjoy it here. It feels very welcoming and diverse. They have classes at convenient times and they're not overcrowded.
Your first barre class at Pure Barre
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
