From the reviews
I rarely leave Google reviews but the experience at this studio was so amazing that it felt like an injustice to the studio to not leave one. Oh, my God. I show up for my first class and as I’m filling out the waiver, I notice the instructor (Sue) greeting everyone that comes in BY NAME.
Came as a drop in for a yoga class with my mom while visiting Treasure Island. The only downside is that you when booking through the website, you have to create an account to save your spot and I couldn’t find a way to pay for two people at once, so my mom and I had to sign up separately.
Barre Central is wonderful. The instructors are expertly trained, professional—and, most importantly, caring. All the staff, especially Sue, have been welcoming and accommodating. And during the pandemic, their live-streamed classes and personal outreach helped me get through a tough time isolating alone.
The studio is fantastic from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave. I love the wide variety of classes available throughout the day. The atmosphere is completely in tune with everything Zen, peaceful and empowering. I personally like the retail area and the ability to find locally made products.
Your first barre class at Sol Pilates Barre Central
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: required here, and sold on-site if you don’t have a pair; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
