From the reviews
The BEST Pilates studio in San Francisco hands down!! I grew up in NorCal but lived down in LA for about 8 years. In my opinion for a long time the NorCal workout scene has been behind LA’s level of intensity & style. Sage Pilates finally brings that curated perfection San Francisco has been needing.
I had an amazing Pilates class with Sage!! Truly one of the best instructors I’ve worked with. Sage created such a welcoming atmosphere the moment I walked in. The vibes are 10/10!!! Looking forward to my next class.
I had such a great experience at Sage Pilates! Sage was super welcoming and informative! The studio is gorgeous too. It gives such an east coast vibe. I’ll definitely be back to take more classes!
Sage Pilates is literally the best studio in the entire Bay Area. The owner and her husband are the nicest people making everyone feel welcomed when you’re there. The aesthetic is beautiful (which is so hard to find in this area) and the classes are amazing.
Your first barre class at Sage Pilates
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: required here, and sold on-site if you don’t have a pair; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
