I wasn’t very happy with my body after having my second baby, but then I found this amazing place with great classes and a kids’ club! After just a couple of months of going to Rise twice a week, I feel so much happier with my body and have become more disciplined about exercising.

This was my first time at RISE and I took Caroline Hassons 9:30AM 1 hour barre class and absolutely loved it!! The energy, music, and workout was a great time! The class was perfectly difficult, it was definitely enough to get a great sweat in but we were also given great modifications just incase we weren’t able to…

First time doing Barre and I have to say that everyone was incredibly nice. The instructor for my class was very welcoming making a point to talk with me before and after class, plus she went above and beyond by offering me tips and encouragement.

Your first barre class at RISE Barre & Fitness

New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: required here, and sold on-site if you don’t have a pair; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.

Barre is low-impact, so it suits most bodies and fitness levels — but if you're pregnant or working around an injury, check with a doctor and let your instructor know so they can offer modifications.
