Pure Barre is AMAZING! I recommend it to everyone I know as one of the best workouts I've ever done. The instructors here are welcoming, supportive, encouraging, and very knowledgeable. The studio atmosphere is very friendly. But the best part obviously is the workouts.
The Pure Barre studio has been a great exercise program for me. The studio was very welcoming to me when I came for my first class. All of the teachers I have had so far are excellent. I am already beginning to see some changes in my body in just two weeks.
I've never been to a fitness class where the instructors are so welcoming and make it a point to give so much individualized attention in each class. It took me some time to familiarize myself with the moves and positions, but instructors are always rounding to assess everyone's form and give positive feedback.
I absolutely love Pure Barre! I started out at 14 weeks pregnant and I am now 29 weeks. The instructors are so accommodating to pregnancy and just in general. Before & after every class they check in with you individually to make sure you're getting what you need, and offer modifications if need be.
Your first barre class at Pure Barre
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
