From the reviews

I enjoy the classes, but find it difficult to hear the instructor over the loud music, which is important especially when new to the routine and trying to follow along. Class times are not terribly convenient for those who work and makes continuity in trying to develop a work out routine somewhat disjointed.

OK, where do I even begin?? I moved from Jersey City to Sparta during COVID and saw that a Pure Barre studio was opening up in town at some point (again, COVID) I signed up immediately. I was addicted to barre in JC but I was a member of a private studio so I was skeptical over what a franchised company would offer.

First things first VERY clean. I chose to keep my mask on and no one made me feel uncomfortable about it and also respect my privacy. I absolutely loved the class. Im very out of shape, inflexible with low mobility and overweight. This class is doable and there are modifications.

Attending Pure Barre Sparta classes is the highlight of my day! Everything is so clean and bright; the wipes smell amazing and the staff is so friendly. Merinda is especially kind and easy to speak with at the front desk- she got me going with my monthly unlimited membership and I’m looking forward to building more…

Your first barre class at Pure Barre

New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.

Barre is low-impact, so it suits most bodies and fitness levels — but if you're pregnant or working around an injury, check with a doctor and let your instructor know so they can offer modifications.
