From the reviews
I’ve been going to Pure Barre in Hillcrest for a month now and I can honestly say it has already changed my life for the best and I am obsessed!!! The instructors are all very personable and even though I am still so new, I’ve never felt intimidated or like I’m not good enough to be there.
I am so happy I tried this. I have been a member for a few months now and am so happy with the workouts. The instructors are fantastic and really do a great job of keeping you motivated and wanting more. Everything can be modified around my bad knees and I’ve never felt stronger. Cannot recommend pure barre enough.
I absolutely love Pure Barre - Hillcrest . I've been to many different barre classes, but none are as tough and effective as Pure Barre. Although it is tough, it is somehow fun. The music helps you zone out and the instructors are always saying encouraging comments about how this is your time and to make it count.
I’ve been going to Pure Barre for over 10 years, but consistently since 2019. I have over 900 classes and each class still gives me a great workout. It’s bc Pure Barre changes things up to keep their long-term clients motivated to keep coming back!
Your first barre class at Pure Barre
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
