From the reviews

I feel mentally and physically stronger when doing Pure Barre. The teachers have a specific intelligence around movement and I love the flow I feel when I’m in class. Pure Barre is one of my favorite parts of my schedule. I use it to tone for aesthetics but also for injury prevention for running.

Absolutely a fan of the Pure Barre studios in Reno. The classes are the perfect amount of fun, challenging, and motivational. All of the instructors are great, and i feel so welcomed each time I go. The membership is more than fair and they are always willing to work with you . Plus they do fun classes like Date Night.

Great classes & instructors 💜. I was always a solo workout person & adventurer (love hiking/running alone). But, I tore the labrum in my left hip & have had to move to low impact workouts until I have surgery. Pure Barre has been an amazing experience & I have grown to love being in a workout class with other people!

★★★★★ — Samantha, Jun 2023

Great studio. All class formats are full body and no impact (or low impact). A variety of instructors means a variety of styles and techniques, perfect for toning and shaping muscles. Building strength while losing inches is wonderful. And each class can be made as difficult or easy as you need / like.

Your first barre class at Pure Barre

New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.

Barre is low-impact, so it suits most bodies and fitness levels — but if you're pregnant or working around an injury, check with a doctor and let your instructor know so they can offer modifications.
