From the reviews
Enjoyed attending class here while on vacation. I am an avid Pure Barre member out of the Indianapolis area. I was a little bit off, put it by them charging me for the class, but when I reminded them, I never visited the studio before they waive the fee and had a great experience good retail, good instructor and good…
I just started last week at Pure Barre Norfolk and I'm already hooked. If my schedule permitted me, I would take it every single day. All the instructors that I've meet so far have been extremely welcoming and made me feel comfortable in this new environment.
I really enjoy the Pure Barre classes! The instructors are super motivating and the workouts are definitely challenging (in a good way!). The music keeps you going, and it's a good mix of instruction and just letting the music play. I've never had trouble finding a parking spot either, which is helpful.
I just moved to the Norfolk area from out of state and I wanted to jump into a new gym/workout routine with a supportive group of people. I had done some barre previously but nothing compared to the workouts here.
Your first barre class at Pure Barre
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
