This studio is fantastic. In this time during covid with gyms being closed, Pure Barre Murphy lost no time jumping into online teaching. Their private online group has live classes every day, and a log of past classes you can choose. The classes are varying length, which is good for busier days.
My home studio is in Denver — was visiting my sister in Wylie — when I went to this studio. As always with every Pure Barre class I have taken across the country the instruction was excellent. I love the consistency of Pure Barre. What made this studio stand out was how incredibly friendly everyone was!
I fell in love with Pure Barre after my first week of classes which was almost 5yrs ago! Barre is my favorite way to exercise - you control the intensity, but it's low impact which is great for joints. Not only am I stronger and leaner, but I've notice huge impacts to my overall physical and mental health.
I absolutely love Pure Barre! I have been taking classes for a little over two years and it is my daily time to zone out and focus on me. I always feel challenged in my workouts. The instructors are awesome and so helpful and quick to make you better in your form.
Your first barre class at Pure Barre
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: required here, and sold on-site if you don’t have a pair; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
