PURE BARRE IS AN EXCELLENT LOW IMPACT WORKOUT THAT STRENGTH MY MUSCLES AND STRECH MY WHOLE BODY. I am a tennis player, and I was looking for another physical activity in my routine that improves my muscle strength and helps with my physical condition on the courts.
I popped into their 45 min class on my lunch break. It was good. The girl at the front desk was very friendly and gave me a quick tour, and the studio was pretty and clean. Instructor was fast paced and to the point.
There is so much that I love about Pure Barre. From the first day I stepped into the studio a couple of years ago, I knew it was where I wanted to be. The instructors are amazing! They really know their stuff! They are exceptional at motivating and encouraging us to challenge ourselves.
Last August, I had been looking for a way to get back to exercising when I came across Pure Barre in Allen. After taking the intro class, I was immediately in! All of the instructors are top notch! I have really enjoyed taking the morning classes and have definitely noticed changes in my body and energy level.
Your first barre class at Pure Barre
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
