“I found this studio very friendly and fun from the start.”
From the reviews
I found this studio very friendly and fun from the start. I was feeling insecure, out of shape and intimidated about returning to a gym setting. Not only did I find all of the instructors to be very competent and helpful, the fellow attendees are a mixed bunch of people that I feel comfortable around.
The classic (50) class was great for a beginner such as myself. I definitely felt the burn and heart rate was pumping. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Stephanie was hands on and engaged with the class to ensure we carried out the movements and techniques properly. The studio was nice and very clean.
I recently visited Pure Barre Five Points while traveling through Columbia, SC. As someone who is not new to barre workouts, I was looking forward to a great class. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t quite meet expectations. The instructor, Olivia, was difficult to hear during class.
i can't say enough about visiting pure barre columbia five points. from my first phone call, i was assisted with out-of-town booking, very warmly welcomed when i arrived, + for the two days that i attended classes, i felt folded into the community immediately.
Your first barre class at Pure Barre
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
