From the reviews
I am from Houston and took my first Pure Barre class while on vacation in Carmel. Kim was my instructor and she was amazing! Her direction during class was so helpful and her music was awesome. I wish I was in town longer to take more classes at this studio.
For anyone who’s new to it or considering the classes - just think of it like Pilates-yoga-ballet somehow had a baby.) However, it has been more than just a place for exercise (though it has helped me drop 35lbs!).
Check out this Pure Barre Studio if you want a workout class that leaves you feeling refreshed, proud and strong! I’ve now attended over 100 classes with PB and love all of the instructors and the sense of community here.
I have been going to Purebarre for about two months. It's funny cause I am NOT fit I'm obese and trying to work on my health so a gym intimidates me. However I was embraced, encouraged and fully supported. I love this place! Shelly is my instructor she always greets me and pushes me to keep going.
Your first barre class at Pure Barre
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: required here, and sold on-site if you don’t have a pair; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
