From the reviews
I am new to this studio, but not to Pilates. After the Pandemic, that closed all fitness centers, I found Pulse and Beats. I feel at home here…everyone I’ve met is friendly and Allison and her staff, with whom I’ve been associated, are quite knowledgeable in their level of Pilates practice.
This is THE studio for fitness that’s fun! It’s very clean, colorful, and serene, with lots of local artworks. You can find a wide variety of classes and private sessions, using the latest, greatest equipment. I really enjoy taking Pilates with Allison and yoga with Kara. Highly recommended!
I started Pilates 6 months ago and have not turned back! Allison and her staff go above and beyond, and have guided me with proper form and instruction through out my learning process. The studio is absolutely beautiful and clean.
Wonderful studio! The facilities are top notch - they have every type of Pilates equipment and there are multiple studios for group classes and private sessions. The instructors are knowledgeable and thoroughly explain proper techniques. I’ve been to other studios and this is the best I’ve found. Highly recommend.
Your first barre class at Pulse and Beats
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
