From the reviews
The best studio in Brooklyn! The teachers make this place. They are fun, empathetic and caring of each client. As a 50 year old woman I was worried I would be surrounded by Lululemon gym fans but I found an inclusive environment that suits any fitness and body type.
Such a great Pilates studio! I tried a bunch of the other chain Pilates places in the neighborhood but have come back here time and time again. Narissa and Jessica are excellent teachers who explain form and technique, give individual pointers, and clearly care about their students.
I’ve completed 49 class with Pilates Heights and highly recommend coming here. I’m a big fan of Narissa and Kat’s Fusion and Barre classes. They have a full schedule of classes (reformer and mat too) during the week and are open half days Fri-Sun. I usually go on a weekday so it has worked out well for me.
I really like this studio, the staff and instructors are great, and I have enjoyed all the classes I’ve taken so far (though some were definitely above my skill level 😅). My only critique is the inability to contact someone in real time.
Your first barre class at Pilates Heights Brooklyn
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
