From the reviews
Andrea is a great teacher. I came into my first class today and it was great. With having my fourth child in September I suffer from a separation in my abdomen, all I had to do was let Andrea know what I was dealing with and she gave me the greatest tips with modifying my workouts while we were in class.
1/13/16 Open Barre Fitness Studio just opened in Walnut Creek and tonight I took my first class. It's conveniently located near my office and I called to reserve a spot at 5:30. The owner Andrea taught the class I participated in and we worked our entire body for the entire hour.
I have been going to Open Barre classes for several months and just hit my 50th class. I love it! The instructors are knowledgeable and friendly. Classes start on time, are focused and organized. The instructors will make gentle corrections if needed and work your behind off.
If you’re looking for a great community and awesome workout at a reasonable price, this is the place for you! I’ve always been intimidated by barre but the instructors here are beyond welcoming and helpful with modifications.
Your first barre class at Open Barre Fitness Studio
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
