From the reviews
I’m new to this MBS location, and so far the classes have been wonderful. Today I took the Allegro class with Jade, and I truly can’t say enough good things about her as an instructor.
I’ve been an MBS member for just a couple of months and I look forward to every class. This is my first time ever joining a studio, and the instructors make it so easy to feel welcome — they remember your name, and offer thoughtful, personalized adjustments that make every class feel supportive and approachable.
This studio used to be reformer village and is now owned and run by MBS Pilates- the same owner as the successful and much-loved MBS studio in Downers Grove. MBS Clarendon Hills is beautiful and clean and lovely. When i walk in it feels like a peaceful break from the miserable cold.
I recently enrolled in a couple of classes at RV, and once again, Katie exceeded my expectations! The classes are filled with invigorating and fun exercises that provide a great challenge.
Your first barre class at MBS Pilates
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
