From the reviews
I couldn't have found a more perfect person than Suzette, owner of Litchfield Hills Pilates, for Pilates that is tailored just for where you are, and where you want to be!
I’ve been working with Suzette for 6yrs+ and she is the best in CT. She is incredibly knowledgeable about the body and is certified in a wide variety of methods. She adapts workouts based on the clients skill level, interests, age and current physical issues.
I moved from NYC to New Milford and was searching for a Pilates studio that matched the boutique workout classes I was used to taking in the city. I found exactly what I was looking for at Litchfield Hills Pilates.
I have been taking Pilates and yoga classes from Suzette for 5 years, both in person in the MB studio and by zoom during Covid. Each class mixes things up so you never feel bored. Muscle groups get addressed through various targeted exercises done in a series.
Your first barre class at Litchfield Hills Pilates
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
