From the reviews
I cannot recommend Fit for You highly enough. This was my first introduction to Pilates and I'm totally hooked. The reformer sessions are a totally different kind of workout for me but Alysa and team have a beautiful, safe and clean studio with state of the art equipment.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Fit for You! I have been doing pilates for a few years and am so happy I found Alysa and her studio. The workouts are challenging and the people are great! Alysa is an amazing instructor who pays attention to the needs of her individual clients.
I have taken both the pilates barre class and a duet reformer private at Fit for You and have loved them equally. The smaller-sized classes allow for the instructors to really make sure that you are getting the most out of your workout, and more importantly, getting through the workout safely for whatever concerns you…
Being in my senior years, I was starving for a full body workout without cardio and sweat! I was introduced to Pilates at Fit For You last year and so happy I did. Not only did I improve my strength and flexibility, but my whole body felt better!
Your first barre class at Fit For You
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
