From the reviews
Barre Boutique should be on everyone's radar for multiple reasons including excellent classes in a great community at a fair price. A consummate city girl post high school (NYC, Bos, DC, and SF). I spent my pre-teen onward years in and now recently moved back to Western CT.
I am a new client with intermediate experience with barre (I went to Pure Barre and Barre Method for awhile) And I have to say after taking only 2 classes - this studio blew me away and challenged me the most - way more than the studios I was used to!
I have been attending barre classes at Barre Boutique since shortly after it opened in 2017. It is by far the best place for Barre! The owner, Jeanine, is an amazing instructor and hires the most qualified, fun instructors leading classes. Every class is different.
I have been addicted to Barre Boutique since it opened. Jeanine is by far the best barre instructor ever! She is energetic and fun, and there is never a dull moment during class. She is also warm and welcoming to newcomers. Classes are tailored to toning and building strength without the potential for injuries.
Your first barre class at Barre Boutique
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
