From the reviews
I’ve always found group fitness intimidating, and especially as someone who considers herself pretty uncoordinated, I was nervous (but excited!) to attend my first class at Hendersonville Barre. I can say without reservation that this is the most inviting experience I’ve ever had in an exercise environment.
Hendersonville Barre & Fitness is the best Barre studio I have ever been to. The two owners Sarah and Rachel are not only incredible instructors but they are beautiful people as well. All the instructors are top notch. The classes are challenging and will make you stronger and incredibly fit.
Several months ago, I went on a hunt for exercise that felt like a want and not a should. Since turning 40, hitting the machines at the gym, doing hard core boot camps, or attempting anything that resembled a burpee just made me angry.
I have learned so much at Hendersonville barre and fitness. I’ve worked out my whole life but this place has taught me to listen to my body and how to use all the small muscles that often get forgotten about. I really enjoy the Micro movements in barre class that may seem easy but they are challenging.
Your first barre class at Hendersonville Barre & Fitness
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
