From the reviews
I’ve been going to this studio for months, and plan to continue to do so for the foreseeable future. All of the instructors I’ve met so far (Em, Raisa, Adrianne, Sara, Melinda, Paige) have brought their own personality into their practice and contribute to the energy that makes this studio so unique.
embody movement is more than just a workout, it is truly a reflection of who emily is! you will feel welcome in every class, empowered and supported no matter if you’re new to barre + pilates or experienced! i will always make the drive to cornwall for monday night circuit.
VIBES. This studio is magic, as are all the incredible instructors who bring their various expertises to the mix. Barre, pilates, yoga, HIIT style classes - all in varying degrees of difficulty - there is truly something for everyone and every fitness level.
Em has created such a welcoming space that truly has made me want to work out every single day. She is so inspiring and really cares about each and every one of her clients. Not only is the staff incredible but every class leaves me feeling like a better version of myself.
Your first barre class at Embody Movement
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
