From the reviews
Easily one of my favorite classes in all of Denver. I have been a member of Class Pass for years and have tried a number of their classes through the system - DBC is the best by a mile.
I've been taking barre classes for over 5 years now, and I love the Barre Forte family. I had always gone to the original studio in Southmoor/Cherry Hills, but now that I moved further north, I decided to try out the LoHi location.
If you are looking for a fun, inclusive fitness community and a kick a$$ workout, this is the studio for you! Never before have I walked into a studio and felt so welcome. The owner, Andrea, makes you feel like a part of the family, as do the other staff members. And the clients are also lovely!
Having never been to a Barre class before I don't have much to compare this too, but I liked it. The place is clean, there's cubbies for your stuff, and the studio is mostly lit with natural light. They require socks of some kind and generally have a class max of about 16, which would fit pretty well in the studio.
Your first barre class at Denver Barre Collective
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
