From the reviews
Finally there's a fitness studio in my neighborhood! If you live west of the tollway in the midway hollow area, you know what I'm talking about!! Community Barre Fitness is in the same shopping center with Jake's at Walnut Hill and Marsh. The instructors are great and and they offer so many types of classes!
The diverse community and the variety of classes offered at CBF are awesome. I love that I know the instructors and other participants - every class has familiar faces. I've tried nearly all the classes with all the instructors and all have been super welcoming for all levels.
This is the best most welcoming Pilates studio! If you have ever wanted to try Pilates or barre and felt intimidated by other studios this place is the best. Joanna is so friendly and welcoming to everyone, always asks if anyone has injuries, gives alternatives for more difficult exercises.
What a fantastic studio! The variety of classes is amazing, the location is convenient, and the atmosphere is incredibly welcoming. I’ve tried both dance and strength classes and loved them! I highly recommend Community Barre to anyone looking for a fun and supportive place to work out.
Your first barre class at Community Barre Fitness Studio
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
