From the reviews
I started with Pilates mat class. I was a veteran exerciser since my 20’s, exercising at least 4 to 5 times a week. I was confident that I was in great shape so taking on the reformer would be easy. I was shocked how challenging Isabel’s reformer classes were for me.
I’ve taken Isabel’s classes for more than 5 years. I’ve done her group mat classes and for the last 3 years she has taught me in private lessons. It’s always been very important for me to stay fit and healthy. As a senior, high impact routines are no longer an option.
One of the most remarkable aspects of the class was the impact it had on my posture. After just a few sessions, I began to notice significant improvements in how I carried myself throughout the day.
I have been seeing Isabelle weekly for close to 5 years now. She is SO knowledgeable and compassionate about her work, listens to you, gets to know your physical issues that need to be addressed during class, and has truly helped me become stronger joint-wise and muscle wise as I age. I SO look forward to her class!!!
Your first barre class at Breathe Pilates Yoga & Barre
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
