From the reviews
I have been a member of Barre 3 Ballard since they opened in 2016. I took the community classes before they opened the studio and knew right away it was the perfect fit for me.
I have been visiting Barre3 Ballard for 9 months consistently and I can't recommend this studio enough for anyone who wants a friendly, clean, wonderful space to exercise in. No gimmicks, competition, or power dynamics—just a place lifting people up as we all get stronger. Love it!
Barre3 Ballard is so much more than just a fitness studio. Don't get me wrong, if you come here regularly, you will get fit. With all of the modifications offered by the instructors, each class you take becomes a custom workout that is both attainable and challenging, and somehow never gets easier.
My favorite exercise studio! The workouts are balanced and balancing. I am always in a better mood after the classes, I feel stronger and more confident with each. People here are beyond nice, the community is very fun, kind, supportive and just awesome! Truly, I couldn’t recommend Barre3 Ballard more!
Your first barre class at barre3
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
