I started barre3 in October of last year had the pleasure of experiencing Barre3 in Powell, and I couldn't be more impressed. The studio has a welcoming and serene atmosphere that instantly puts you at ease.
I absolutely love Barre3 Powell! I joined Barre3 two years ago when I was dealing with a lot of back and knee pain issues and wanted to find a place to start exercising and improve my health. I signed up for the unlimited membership and started going about five times a week.
Barre3 has been a transformative experience for me. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed by the supportive community and energized by the positive atmosphere. The instructors are not only knowledgeable but also incredibly encouraging, pushing me to reach new heights in my fitness journey.
At the age of 43, I joined barre3 without even stepping foot in the studio -- and wow, am I glad I did! I joined because I knew I needed "somewhere" to get my body stronger and to have instructors guide and encourage me. What I have gotten is that and SO much more!
Your first barre class at barre3
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
