From the reviews
I started joining classes in March of this year and am so grateful for this community and the ability to take time for me a few days a week. Beyond a good sweat, I enjoy how much the class instructors pour into us mentally and emotionally with reminders of self love, confidence, and self worth.
Alana and Jody, you made my day in my birthday! Sadie, you built the best team ever. This studio is highly recommended!
Don’t want to be dramatic, but I feel like barre3 gave me my life back postpartum! I have never had a consistent work out routine in my adult life and barre3 is the first time I am working out consistently 3/4 times a week.
I was visiting family in Portland and decided to try out barre3 during my stay, and I am so glad I did! The studio is clean, the staff is friendly and welcoming, and the classes are super fun. The front desk made me feel right at home and always greeted me by name.
Your first barre class at barre3
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
